INDUSTRY BIO.

Jenna Stahl brings many key ingredients to Shop-Hers’ endeavors. She is responsible for both the visual design and the user experience at Shop-Hers.com. Jenna has a solid knowledge of graphic/digital design, excellent team and project management skills and a wealth of web-based retail shopping expertise, which all contribute to the tremendous success of Shop-Hers. She has worked with a broad range of clients (such as SeaMobile, Sony, Coca Cola, Johnson & Johnson, Intel and the U.S. Department of Justice, just to name a few), but is most passionate about her work in the fashion/beauty industries (having worked with the likes of Nordstrom, Max Factor, Cover Girl and Clarisonic). In fact, Jenna was instrumental in the early days of Norstrom.com. In her 5½ years with the company, she and her team designed and maintained a top-ranking e-commerce site that consistently exceeded the division’s business goals, and positioned Nordstrom as a major player in online retail.

FACT: I would go head-to-head with Martha Stewart any day…in the kitchen, in the garden, at the craft table…
FACT: My title is “Creative Director,” but I’m also referred to as “Miss Guyver.” If you need a hanger but all you have is a paperclip, I’m your girl!

INSIDER Q & A.

W2C: How did you meet your Co-Founders?
JS: A previous employee at Nordstrom introduced Jaclyn and me. It was love-at-first-mention. I could clearly see that there was a tremendous need for a marketplace that was exclusively designer. I love the idea of repurposing anything and everything, and the thought of giving new life to women’s one-time wears is so inspiring.

W2C: What are the most rewarding aspects of being a Co-Founder at Shop-Hers?
JS: It’s like Christmas here every day when we see what has arrived from our VIPs and sellers. And, as nerdy as it may sound, I love solving the puzzle of how women want to shop and explore the site.

W2C: In an ever-changing, ever-evolving fashion world, how do you keep up with all of the different trends?
JS: I don’t feel the need to jump on every trend that hits the runway; I only buy into the ones that truly appeal to me.

W2C: Are there some must-have pieces currently available on your site?
JS: Absolutely! The Celine ID Bracelet; these Balmain Heels; this Dior Clutch; and, this Stella McCartney Bag…Obsessed!!

W2C: What has surprised you most along this start-up journey?
JS: I’m surprised by how many of our sellers have also become such enthusiastic shoppers on Shop-Hers. It’s proof that it’s hard to bypass a good thing (and a good deal) when you see it!

W2C: What advice would you give to individuals interested in starting a company in the digital space?
JS: Be prepared to work hard and to wear many hats! Each person plays many roles in a small company. Then, as you grow, learn how to let go and allocate responsibility to others.

W2C: What does the future have in store for Shop-Hers?
JS: There are many new site features and new functionality in the pipeline. Stay tuned!
